My most favourite sentence from Renato, the main character of the movie, though I really hate him for being such a coward. Never even spoke about his obsession toward Malena. Like at all? Stand still and  being passive when Malena was beaten up by the whole town? I know he is 12, and Malena is a 27 years old widow. But still.  He was a boy, soon to be a man. He should have done something more "significant" to protect her than throwing stones to windows, right? Duuhh. Sebel.

And the only time this boy ever spoke to Malena was just once. At the ending part of the movie. Kesel ga sih, lo. Nonton segitu panjang interaksinya cuma sekali. Pas akhir pula. Ish.

Caca selalu bilang sama gue bahwa ada dua kriteria penting untuk define apakah sebuah film itu bagus  atau enggak: 1. Script. 2. Jalan cerita. Gue bilang, gue ga percaya. Karena menurut gue apa yang membedakan film dan buku adalah visualisasi itu sendiri. Itu kenapa efek visual dan teknik cinematografi penting. “Iya, tapi sekeren apapun visualnya, kalo jalan ceritanya pada dasarnya emang jelek, film itu bakal jelek kan? Cinematografi itu Cuma masalah teknologi, Mar.”

Them

Menurut gue setiap orang punya kriteria masing-masing untuk menentukan siapa teman yang baik buat mereka. Meski menurut gue kriteria teman yang baik secara umum pada dasarnya sama aja. That shit about “always be there for your friend when they need you” while i have to admit that its true, i dont think its 100% accurate. Kita kan manusia bukan power ranger, how could we. Even untuk keluarga sendiri kita belum tentu bisa.
